GENEVA VOLLRATH, PRESIDENT/CEO

TO INSPIRE YOU - OCTOBER 4.2007

SHARING THE WORK OF MINISTRY
Have you ever studied the leadership lessons we can learn from people in the Bible? A recent experience caused the story of Moses to come to mind. I don’t know too many men who listen to their father-in-law—but Moses did. His father-in-law Jethro observed that Moses was wearing himself out trying to address the needs of thousands of people. He wisely advised Moses to find capable leaders who could help share the work of ministry, which resulted in blessing for Moses and the people of Israel.

I thought of that incident on a recent visit to northern California. I had been invited to participate in a leadership retreat that was being conducted by three Stonecroft Regional Administrators—Char Kellogg, Nancy Reader, and Pam Grein with the help of their Divisional Field Director, Doris Thompson. Their theme was “It’s a Jungle Out There” and one of their goals was to introduce women to Stonecroft Ministries and all it has to offer. It was an incredible event that was encouraging to me as well as to the women attending.

As I travel around the country, I am so impressed by the way I see Field Directors and volunteer leaders working together with a common goal. I am awed by their incredible commitment to the vision of reaching women for Christ. This California event was just one of many I have been privileged to observe.

I am so thankful for the wonderful Field Directors God has provided for us—and we trust Him to add four more to their number in the months ahead. And I am deeply grateful for our volunteer leaders, who give of themselves so sacrificially. Like Moses, I am blessed to have such a godly team of leaders who share the work of ministry.
