WHY A NON-CASH GIFT?
One of the best ways to make a donation to Stonecroft Ministries is through a non-cash gift. Often times, a person will sell an asset they own and then donate the proceeds in the form of a cash contribution.
The problem, however, is there are tax consequences in selling an asset when the value is higher than the basis or cost to the donor. The net (after-tax) proceeds ends up being less than the full value of the asset sold.
By donating the asset to Stonecroft (without selling it first), the full market value of the asset becomes eligible for donation to the donor.
