A DISCIPLES TREASURE
Treasures in Heaven
Just like buried treasure, there is a valuable principle in the Bible that is often undiscovered. It’s the concept of stewardship—the recognition that God owns everything and that He has only entrusted a portion of His resources to us for a time. We are to manage these resources responsibly and according to His wishes. In the New Testament, Jesus referred to money and possessions more than He did heaven and hell.
Why?
Because He knew our heart attitude in these matters affects every aspect of our lives, including our relationship with God.
Jesus taught that possessions could tie us to this world. We could become burdened by the accumulation, maintenance, and protection of these possessions. Instead, He urged us to seek God’s kingdom first.
For over 70 years, Stonecroft Ministries has been committed to evangelism and discipleship. Mrs. Baugh and Miss Clark, our ministry founders, recognized the need to disciple Christians in a deeper understanding of the biblical principles of stewardship.
A representative of Stonecroft Ministries is available to meet with you to discuss these biblical principles and answer questions such as:
What does it mean to be a steward? As in the parable of the talents, will the Master say, ”Well done, good and faithful servant”?
How can I use the resources God has given me to provide for my family and the ongoing work of His kingdom?
These are not easy questions. As stewards of God’s possessions, it’s important to understand God’s will in these matters. It also means taking time to consider what the Master is saying about the difference you can make long after you’ve left this earth—and then taking action to see it happen. God has an eternal kingdom in mind—one He invites us all to be a part of.
